Nantucket Sound: Once it's Gone, it's Gone Forever
This short documentary dramatically captures the reasons why so many Cape Cod and Island residents oppose Cape Wind, and it presents their serious concerns about its threat to the ecology of the Sound, public safety, and to fishing and tourism. Take a moment ot view it, then send it by email to your personal email network. Comments welcome!

Myth: Cape Wind is not a threat to air and sea navigation.

Fact: Cape Wind would pose hazards to marine vessel navigation, air traffic control, search and rescue efforts, and fishing vessels and gear deployment.

Cape Wind ’s proposed turbines present 130 obstacles to navigation in an area surrounded by passenger ferry and shipping lanes, as well as low flying aircraft. Public access restrictions could prohibit any anchoring or gear fishing in the project area, which would seriously impact Cape and Islands fishermen who derive as much as 60% of their livelihood from fishing in the proposed project area on Horseshoe Shoal. Beyond unresolved air traffic and radar concerns, the project would compromise helicopter search and rescue efforts on Horseshoe Shoal.
