Nantucket Sound: Once it's Gone, it's Gone Forever
This short documentary dramatically captures the reasons why so many Cape Cod and Island residents oppose Cape Wind, and it presents their serious concerns about its threat to the ecology of the Sound, public safety, and to fishing and tourism. Take a moment ot view it, then send it by email to your personal email network. Comments welcome!

Myth: Local Cape and Islands residents support Cape Wind.

Fact: The majority of Cape and Islands residents oppose Cape Wind.

Several polls of the Cape and Islands, collectively surveying over 1700 residents, have shown that Cape and Island residents, on balance, oppose Cape Wind. More importantly, towns that have voted on the issue have clearly shown that a large majority of their residents are opposed to the Cape Wind project. In separate non-binding referendums, the towns of Mashpee and Nantucket voted against the Cape Wind project by strong margins.

The August 2007 poll conducted by the Newton-based Civil Society Institute, claiming that 58% of Cape and Islands residents support Cape Wind, surveyed a mere 61 local residents.
